Baker House VR (2024)

About MIT Baker House and Alvar Aalto

Alvar Aalto (1898-1976) is a Finnish architect considered as one of the most influential Modernist pioneers. Among his many architectural projects and numerous furniture designs is the Baker House (1949), a student dormitory he created on the campus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology while he was a visiting professor to the institute. Today, numerous historic sketches and drawings he made during the design development and photos of the building at its completion are archived at Alvar Aalto Foundation (alvaaalto.fi) in Helsinki.
